Had both an 06 Mazda6 5-speed manual and an 08 Mazda 6i 5-speed auto. Both ran great to about 110K miles before I got rid if them ( both due to relocating overseas). Had to replace coil-on-plug boots on the 08, but other than that, just routine maintenance. Love the Mazda6. decorama • 6 yr. ago.

Variable valve lift makes it even more unpredictable when trying to avoid the pistons hitting them. Variable valve timing also makes it unpredictable.
